This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop knowledge of the history of Deaf communities, deaf education, and welfare, social and political organisations in Australia.

This knowledge contributes to an understanding of issues facing Deaf people and their communities in the present. It underpins culturally appropriate and sensitive interactions with the Deaf community when conversing in Auslan.

You may want to include more information here about the target group and the purpose of the assessments (eg formative, summative, recognition)
